REO Speedwagon Gears Up for Hi Infidelity's 30th Anniversary
REO Speedwagon is leaving no stone unturned in their plans to celebrate the 30th anniversary of their breakthrough album, Hi Infidelity. The disc, which came out in 1981, catapulted REO from moderate popularity into superstars. In addition to the number-one hit Keep on Loving You, it includes favorites like Take It on the Run, Tough Guys, In Your Letter and Dont Let Him Go.
REO singer Kevin Cronin tells Billboard, Next year is 2011, 30 years since 1981, the year that rocked our world. The Hi Infidelity record was such a turning point for us, just on a personal and professional level. He admits, Were milking it for everything its worth! To that end, the band is planning a deluxe reissue of the album and possibly a tour on which they'll play Hi Infidelity in its entirety. The reissue will probably include the original demos for the album that REOs manager recently discovered in his garage. Cronin says, Its fun to listen to -- no keyboards, no backing vocals. Just guitar and lead vocals.
In the meantime, REO Speedwagon is on tour all summer long. They perform Friday night in Rancho Mirage, California.
