At the turn of the century, Marshall Walter “Major” Taylor was a superstar in the world of competitive cycling. He was as big as LeBron James is now and almost as wealthy. He accomplished most of his greatest achievements while a resident of Worcester. He also faced great adversity because he was African-American. The Worcester Public Library is screening the documentary, “Major Taylor: The Champion Of The Race” tonight(5/22/24) at 6pm. President of the Major Taylor Association, Lynne Tolman, talks to Mike Hsu about Taylor’s story and the screening event at the library.
